Liverpool Transfer News: Sadio Mane Targeted Amid Latest Mario Gotze Rumours

Liverpool will reportedly look to raid St. Mary's Stadium once again this summer after it emerged the Reds are examining Southampton winger sadiomane after failing to lure Bayern Munich misfit Mario Gotze. According to Simon Jones  of MailOnline, Liverpool will join Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur in the hunt for mane, with Gotze seemingly set on a Bayern stay despite being told he'll play a bit-part role at the club.  The Germany international endured an injury-plagued 2015-16 season under departing Pep Guardiola and made just 11 Bundesliga starts. Despite that low level of involvement, it appears Liverpool's hopes of signing the player have been reduced to rubble, per the  Guardian 's Andy Hunter . Things don't appear likely to improve under incoming boss Carlo Ancelotti after Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge suggested to German newspaper Kicker  the situation won't change  (h/t Jones' report): " He knows what the club thinks and what the new coach thinks. Mario has to evaluate for himself whether he wants to play constantly." Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp could hope to reunite with his former Borussia Dortmund charge at Anfield, but mane may be seen as a more desirable candidate given his form in the Premier League.
